Grand Tetons & Colorado &Utah 2013

I shot this with the very last evening light as the sun sank behind the Teton Mountain range. The "sweet" light of the fading sun has a unique glow to it that can only be seen twice a day for a very short time. That light just lite up the house really well.

The John Moulton house build circa, 2010 according to history information from Jackson Hole. It was a most innovative house for the times. A move from log housing to structurally build framing and stucco finishing of the exterior. It is too often overlooked because of the classic view of the barn from the other side of this row of trees hiding the house.

We came across this fluffy coyote on a back road in the mountain meadows stalking some ground squirrels and he hit the jackpot 3 times. The first time I didn't have the car in possition for the lighting, the second time is this shot, and the third time he had his rear-end facing us so it wasn't any kind of a keeper shot at all. I wish he had been closer and the lighting would have been with me better, but I am happy just getting this picture as good as it is. 100 yards out didn't exactly help things but then again they are wild animals, not in a zoo setting.

This is the next farm house and barn down the road from the famous Moulton Barn on Mormon Barn row. This one is so small and simple that is gets zero attention, but still sets in the same beautiful setting back-dropped by the Teton mountain range.

I caught this bat flying in the middle of the day over the river that overflowed out of Jenny Lake In the Tetons NP. The Rangers told me he had been there for 2 days and had never seen one do this before. I figure he just migrated in and was loading up on nutrition before resuming his nightly routine. The question has been raised about him being rabid, but I feel that condition would make him sick enough that his sophisticated flying and feeding that he was doing would be noticeably impaired. He was very much under control of his flying.
