A rat snake that was seen 2 days earlier up in the top of this dead tree trying to capture some Starling chicks. They fought him off that day and then today, 6-15 he was back at the tree but didn't bother to go to the top. We had to beat him off to keep him out of our boat. Sorry sucker. I gave him a couple of swats with the fishing pole and he left in a hurry. Now that tells you how close he got to me. He was heading into the front of the boat. He was about a 5 footer.
After that stinking Rat Snake tried to get in our boat, I'll describe this nice 3 foot Rough Green Snake as a sweet little snake. He was the largest Green snake I have ever encountered and he didn't try to enter our boat either. Nice snake.
